Hi! I’m Monica.
I am the Owner of Sheldrake Consulting. I am a Certified Career Transition Coach, Résumé Writing Expert, and Speaker.
I’m also a Mom, Childhood Cancer Research Advocate, Reader, and Sticker Collector.
I help mid-career women and industry changers who:
- Are feeling stuck, but aren’t sure how or where to start.
- Want to change jobs or industries and need help discovering their skills and experience and how to talk about them.
- Haven’t touched their résumé in years and are overwhelmed at the thought of doing it alone.

How?
As a coach, I see different things and I see things differently. My coaching style is a combination of empathy, candor, and accountability.
I’m invested in you and your goals. I’m compassionate, honest, and an awesome listener. I can be objective about your situation and listen to what you’re really saying.
We think we need confidence to take action, when really it’s taking action that increases our confidence.
Small steps lead to big wins. And big wins lead to even bigger wins!
Together we’ll create a strategy and action steps to get you unstuck.

What I do:
Career Coaching that helps restore your confidence and Job Search Documents that demonstrate your unique value and highlight your accomplishments.
- Safe space where you feel heard and encouraged to make the next step that’s right for you
- 1:1 coaching & on-going email support
- Objective 360* advice tailored to you and your goals
- Job search strategies that work
- Résumés, Cover Letters, and LinkedIn profiles that get results

More About Monica

CEO and Founder of Sheldrake Consulting, LLC.
I started my business because I saw too many women doubting their abilities and underselling their accomplishments. Their resumes read like job descriptions, instead of highlight reels, and their job searching strategies were outdated and inefficient.
In addition to running my coaching and writing business, I taught graduate students at GVSU for 5 years. I love teaching!
I’m a vocal advocate for childhood cancer research, social justice, and community service. I believe that sharing our stories can empower and inspire people and communities to create positive change.
I’m a Mid-west transplant, originally from the East Coast. I was born and raised in NJ, and went to college in Boston. I live in Okemos, Michigan with my husband and two sons. I work from home and share a corner office with our cat Violet.
